Reblogged from Leadership Freak:
Talk isn’t always cheap. Words change lives and organizations. However, when it comes to authenticity, talk is nearly meaningless.
Authenticity, like trust, feedback, and empowerment are words tossed around in leadership circles likes nuts at a squirrel buffet.
Words apart from practice make you
feel you know when you don’t.
Using the term “authentic” doesn't make you authentic any more than sleeping in a garage makes you a car.
What I strive and hope to be!
Also a good stick to measure others by.

It’s funny, but I completely agree with that article, even though it goes against a lot of the “appear confident, never rattled, etc.” crap you usually read.
I’m reading like my fifth book on Lincoln and I think it’s easy to forget how humble he was, and how he leaned so hard on those around him — many of whom were incompetent, but he would replace them as he could.
“even though it goes against a lot of the “appear confident, never rattled, etc.” crap you usually read.” is pride and ego. That is why I like this guy’s Blogs.
